Summer's Sweet Simplicity

Oh yellow white and green, how do I love thee, so fresh and so cleanclean, and yet soft like a field of dandelions... well, Jamie & George knew how to do it right- from ultra fun bridesmaid dresses and mexican fiesta beer on the patio, to Lady Dottie and the Diamonds for a live band reception.. their ecologically conscious wedding was a hoot. Thank you for the amazing photos Susan Yee for En Pointe Photography.

Sweet satisfaction- white lilac and ranunculus with chamomile, locally grown and perfectly in season.

Feel that fearless color surge!

Standing by the sea, surrounded by blooming dogwood branches and wildflowers in mossy cones...

Detail perspective of snaps and wax flower...

Oh happy day.

Centerpieces of yellow, gold, white and grey-

Varying combos of dusty miller and ranunculus, hydrangea, and feverfew chamomile.

& how about this as a "green" (and green) wedding favor- reusable cloth bags!

Where would we be without cupcakes?

don't answer that- Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. to the rescue.

A little bit a' soul and Sol to make memories that last forever..

Our happy couple..

Oh wait.. you meant this happy couple ;) Congratulations J & G!!

Darling Darlington

Yia & Sal celebrated in the sweetest of locations, surrounded by beautiful rose bushes and blue tile mosaics, family and friends..
Fantastic color meld of peach-y apricot-y papaya-y hues with soft mocha browns in a base of creamy whites, greens, and anything naturally blending with the overall scheme.
You know I love the color freedom!

The composite table centerpiece with these adorable kraft paper numbers on a grapevine leaf, mercury glass votives, dinner menus, and florals.

Soft green dusty miller and creamy china mums, lipstick ranunculus, antique garden roses, and white/green parrot tulips.

Mini mocha cymbidium orchids, more green vibernum, and fragrant white freesia- gathered into one of three various size mason jars tied with a little twine bow.

Can't forget the stunner of a cake- Golden james storey orchids scattered amid the mercury glass votives, three luscious tiers of ranunculus, parrot tulips, mocha, lime green, and orange cymbidium orchids.

Love the teamwork :)

Sweet Peas at the Prado

What a lovely setting for our monthly Weddings of Distinction meeting! Thank you to everyone at the Prado, notably Andrea Pena, for coordinating a delicious lunch in the Loggia Room. Amy Wright of Theorie (one of our newest members:)) was on hand to snap the shots- Thank you for making the beautiful colors of our flowers really shine!

Purple sweet peas and fun papaya-peachy-buttery ranunculus in a glass vases set upon a palm leaf and surrounded by river pepples in a mahogany wood tray.

Oh yeah, how pretty is the Loggia Room! Those colors just popped in the soft setting of gold and sea green! And the wall of windows overlooking the courtyard... so nice.

Now we've got the addition of fresh lavender and leucadendron all wrapped in horsetail (equisetum) and an orange satin ribbon. BEST PART.... IT'S ALL LOCALLY GROWN RIGHT HERE IN SAN DIEGO!! Check out the potential for fun and beauty!!

Yours truly on the left, with the awesome Kristie Emmons from Continental Catering and the always fabuloso Elaine Ardizzone from Sweet Cheeks (a familiar name around here :))

Fresh Fruit

Now I know I've posted about Laura and Zach numerous times, but I just received their professional images taken by Michelle Zuniga's Studio Z and they are too gorgeous not to post! Thank you for taking such dreamy photos!

Isn't this just so yummy!!! Creamy yellow roses, bright white stock, orange mokara orchids, baby green hydrangea, and miniature calla lilies in pink and mango orange.

Soft sage green dresses make those bouquets pop! Orange roses and orchids, pink callas, green hydrangea and touches of periwinkle statice.

Such a great table shot- love the matching green favor boxes and chocolate linens...

Sliced limes, hydrangea, mokara orchids, orange dahlias, white and green alstoemeria, with more purple statice and stock.

Couldn't forget the cake! Circus roses and kermit mums on lime and pale sage green icing like only the ladies at Sweet Cheeks could do!!

More vine walking...

Thanks to the fab Elaine over at Sweet Cheeks we have more photos!

I love this cake! Words of love written in Italian for the romance and the bride's heritage, deep indigo hydrangea blooms dotting the tiers...

I love this groom's cake too! Plus the wood & cork escort card holder that the groom made himself- it was very cool.

Walk in the Vines

Ode to grape lovers..
Gina & Mike were up for a wine stomp and romp at their wedding in Temecula's Leonesse Cellars. It was a windy, but stunning day captured by Louis Palos Studio...

White freesia and antique peach garden roses blend beautifully in this hand-tied bouquet.

Irridescent blue-purple dresses set off these bouquets of green hydrangea, mini green cymbidiums, star of bethlehem, and creamy white roses.

the happy couple :)

Hanging vases of mini roses and white-purple snapdragons from navy ribbon on iron shepherd hooks lining the aisle..

Centerpieces of roses, berries, hydrangea, and a fun mix of magnolia and juniper foliage..

More centerpieces of submerged globe grapes and casablanca lilies to fill the outside courtyard with a touch of fragrance..

There were TWO awesome cakes by Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. but for the moment, you'll have to check their website to see those!

Love in Ocean Beach

Jayanti & Zach were so happy to have their wedding on the bluffs in San Diego. Planning the whole thing from their snowy home in the midwest, they chose a sweet color combo of pinks, greens, and whites with a Stargazer Lily motif to match their fave flower of choice.

Jayanti carried pink Sorbonne Lilies and white dendrobiums in white hydrangea with a cuff of pink statice & her bridesmaids carried green cymbidiums in white hydrangea with alstroemeria- the pink ribbon on their dresses matched the exact shade of their adorable baby doll dresses.

Groom boutonniere of white dendrobiums and variegated lily grass & Groomsmen to match the bridesmaids, of course.

White orchid stems and pink ribbon to line the aisle with a view...

Family and friends gathered around this long feast table which, by the time they arrived, was filled in with more candles, wine glasses, and a special box of See's Chocolates wrapped for each guest.
Details down the table: Bamboo nestled in spanish moss with cymbidium orchids, alstoemeria and stephanotis blooming out the top & Lush arrangements of pale green hydrangea, pinky peach roses, cymbidium orchids, alstroemeria, pink statice, and Stargazer & Sorbonne lilies.

Now, for the zinger- Check out this ADORABLE cake! The enormous Stargazer on the top is a "glamellia" of sorts- one biggie composed of petals from multiple blooms- it looks wild! Of course, the sugar flowers and sweet details are compliments of none other than Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.
