Love those stripes!

For those of you who don't know.. I also do a stint with the Carlsbad Flower Fields, teaching elementary students about the Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers we grow here in Southern California. It's great to see them get so inquisitive and rambunctious when surrounded by the masses of flowers while on their field trips. Anyhoo, my last class of the season was on Wednesday so I wanted to be sure and take some pictures- don't you know my battery died after only 4! Oh well, here are my 2 favorites, nice and bright.

Smart Snap Use #241

I just had to share this great note from Todd & Jessica who were married last December at St. Brigid's in Pacific Beach. Their photographer, Hung C. Tran, does very artistic photo work and caught their laid back, yet snazzy personalities perfectly.
I think it makes a very sweet reminder of the wedding for all those receiving a gracious note of thanks. I should add that when I say snazzy, I mean snazzy- Todd masquerades by day as a Macintosh miracle worker and then plays jazz and bossa nova with the odd accordion solo by night, while Jessica completes the pair with massages and samba lessons!

Thank you to Justin-

Look at these lovely photos! Ahh, professional photography.. doesn't it make such a difference? Don't get me wrong, I love my Canon Powershot and how it makes my amateur photographic abilities look pretty darn good; but just as with anything else, when you call in the experts you get noticeable improvements in quality. So, without further ado, gratzie to Mr. Justin Hulse of Hulse Photography for the contents of my little slideshow.

Can you say BUSY???

I know it's been forever since my last post and I sincerely apologize for the delay- but I assure you it was for valid reason.. The San Diego Association of Bridal Consultants just celebrated it's annual gala - the ABC Showcase - and guess who did all the flowers? Yours truly, yes that's right. It was an amazing opportunity to lash out with whatever floral concept I wanted and I loved the warm colors of mango oranges with crisp black, white, and green we used for throughout the entire event. High-fives go out to everyone who participated and got the show on the road!

What do your flowers say to you?

I love seeing the look on people's faces when I deliver their flowers. Every occasion requires just the right reading of what would be appropriate and convey the right feeling. It's a bit of guessing game... like buying clothes for someone- you like the shirt, you think they'd look great in that color and style, but when they untie the ribbon and look in the box, you're still on the edge of your seat in the silent agony of Ooh I hope they like it. The beauty is, everyone loves to be thought of, so rest easy; once you've decided to send flowers you're already 10 points ahead. What I started talking about was the fun of translating messages into flower arrangements- dots and dashes into daisies and roses. Out of the plethora of emotions one could choose to send, the vase for today says Hey Cheery, time to brighten up!
